Program Description

COURSE INFORMATION:

Students will transfer 3 credits of German language taken at the Carl Duisberg Centrum Sprachenzentrum in Berlin; this course is equivalent to GRMN 328 and must be approved before departure. They have the option of enrolling in a 3 credit CofC course, GRMN 320, for internship credit as well.

PROGRAM INFORMATION:

This program offers students the opportunity to obtain an internship in a variety of professional fields, including, but not limited to, business, general administration, production, computer science and engineering, all while improving your German language skills.

Students will depart Charleston on May 17, 2015 and do a one-month intensive language course at the Carl Duisberg Centrum Sprachenzentrum in Berlin for which they will earn 3 transfer credits equivalent to GRMN 328. In early June, students start a 2-month internship in a field of their choice. The students live with a host family in Berlin and the internship employers often assist them in securing housing during the internship phase. Internships are coordinated through Cultural Vistas (formerly CDS International), who does the actual placement of students in internships.
