Program Description

COURSE INFORMATION:

Students take the following two courses:

PSYC 315/410: Emerging from Violence - 3 credits
PSYC 315/410: The Developing Child: The Role of Culture and Community - 3 credits

PROGRAM INFORMATION:

This will be an amazing, action-packed program. First we will spend time in Cambodia, with the key locations being Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. We will visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, the Choeung Ek Killing Fields Memorial, and the temples of Angkor Wat. The students also spend a weekend at an eco-village. We then travel to Vietnam, visiting the UNESCO heritage city of Hoi An, the mountain villages in SaPa, and Hanoi. Class is held in the mornings, with excursions/events in the afternoon. The students are graded on their trip and class participation as well as their final research paper, which are due after we return to the U.S.

Two programs will run this summer; the dates are:

Program #1- June 9-July 8, 2015
Program #2- July 15-August 13, 2015

The 2014 program fee was $4,600; 2015 program fee will be announced. A range is $525-$575 per week in addition to airfare.
