PROGRAM INFORMATION:

The CofC in Morocco program immerses students in the history, culture, politics, languages, and geographical location of this unique African country. The first portion of the program will take place in Tangier, where students will be housed in a three or four-star hotel in the heart of the city, including breakfast and either lunch or dinner. Students will attend formal classes in the morning, and the afternoons and weekends will include guided excursions of Tangier, its surrounding cities and landmarks (such as the Medina, Azila, and the Mediterranean and Atlantic coastal environments).

The second part of the program will be a guided tour of the major imperial Moroccan cities (Volubilis, Meknes, Fez, Ouarzazate, Marrakesh, Casablanca, and Rabat, etc.) where students will discover the historical impact of each site. In addition, the tour will traverse the extremely diverse natural environment of Morocco including its alpine, desert, and mountainous terrains. The tour will feature an air-conditioned van, and during the trip accommodations will include three or four-start hotels, two meals a day, museum fees and tips, as well as one night in desert tents.

The final part of the program will be back in Tangier and may include a day trip to Tarifa in Andalusia, Spain to complete the students' understanding of historical Morocco during the 700-year rule of the Moorish Empire in Spain.

Students should expect frequent hiking and walking, and heavy traveling on this program.
