Estimated Costs: In addition to the program fee, students will be charged for tuition and fees as follows:
* 2015-16 in-state tuition rate for four credits is $1,832 (plus Library, Technology and Part Time Fees)
* 2015-16 out-of-state tuition rate for four credits is $2380.00 (plus Library, Technology and Part Time Fees). The out of state tuition for classes associated with travel are discounted from the Fall and Spring rates.

Program Description

COURSE INFORMATION:

Students take two of the following courses:

FREN 314: French Conversation and Composition - 3 credits
FREN 363: Advanced French Culture - 3 credits
FREN 390: Special Topics in French - 3 credits



PROGRAM INFORMATION:

Students will stay at the Domaine de Petite for the duration of the program with a short trip tentatively scheduled from Marseilles to Corsica at the end of the program for approximately 3 days. The main visits in Provence will include "Les-Baux-de-Provence," "Les Palais des Papes," Le Pont du Gars, St. Remy de Provence, Arles, Nimes, and eventually Ajaccio and the "occidental" coast of the island of Corsica (short hovercraft ride required).

This program involves walking for long periods of time on a daily basis. Students should also be able to swim.

Dr. Hiers is a Senior Instructor of French and the Director of the Comparative Literature Program at the College of Charleston. She has directed several programs in France including the semester program in La Rochelle, France in 2008 and 2015, the Paris program summer 2012 and 2013, and the Provence program in 2015.

Dr. Signori is an Associate Professor of French at the College of Charleston. She lived in France for seven years and has spent recent summers in France conducting research. She has directed programs abroad to France and Spain, and co-directed the Paris program with Dr. Hiers in 2013 as well as the Provence program in 2015.
