PROGRAM INFORMATION:

This will be a hands-on academic experience for students who are ready to learn beyond the classroom walls. First we will embark on a series of public health case studies to address questions of who has access to health and who does not. We will visit parks, market places, and health care facilities to speak with locals about healthcare beliefs and practices. We will also learn about health communication through Mediterranean diet and lifestyle. We will learn from food growers and chefs, prepare foods, and create health education materials. Cultural immersion opportunities are abound in the markets and plazas as well as the opportunity to see classic sites like the Parthenon, Sagrada Familia Cathedral, and Royal Residences and Gardens dating to the 1500s.

Note: you will have some free days to travel if you choose. Also, because your flight is not included in the price, you may travel before or after the program
