Estimated Costs: In addition to the program fee, students will be charged for tuition and fees as follows:
* 2016-17 in-state tuition rate for three credits is $1,422 (plus Library, Technology and Part Time Fees)
* 2016-17 out-of-state tuition rate for three credits is $1,848 (plus Library, Technology and Part Time Fees). The out of state tuition for classes associated with travel are discounted from the Fall and Spring rates.
Program Description

PROGRAM DATES:

Students will need to leave the U.S. no later than July 4 in order to arrive in Stockholm by July 5. July 23 is the first day students can depart from program.


COURSE INFORMATION:

Students take the following course:

ARTM 360: Global Music Industry Study Abroad (Sweden) - 3 credits


PROGRAM INFORMATION:

This course exposes students in Arts Management/Music Industry Concentration and others interested in the careers of singer-songwriters, producers, studio engineers, A&R (artist and repertoire) and record label executives, and talent managers to (5) broad areas of the global music industry in Stockholm and Orebro, Sweden. The areas include (1) festival management, (2) music streaming (with the world's leading streaming company,Spotify): (3) songwriting; (4) music/artist management; and (5) a comprehensive studio recording experience.

Mr. Bryan received his Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of South Carolina in 1989. He is a founding member, songwriter and the guitar player for multi-platinum Hootie & the Blowfish and has spent the last 30 years recording and touring. He also has three solo albums to his credit.

Since moving to Charleston in 1999, Mr. Bryan has produced 7 full-length albums, as well as co-written, and prdouced countless songs, for other artists. He was also instrumental in founding the College of Charleston Radio Station, and is the Artist in Residence for the Music Industry Concentration, Arts Management Program, in the College's School of the Arts.

Mr. Bryan manages the band Stop Light Observations (SLO) and is also the Chairman of the Board for Carolina Studios, a non-profit after school music recording and technology program for kids 8-18.

Currently, Drew Young is the Music Strategist for the iconic global brand, Southern Comfort. He is also working with Lionsgate as a music consultant for the episodic drama, Greenleaf. Drew is currently overseeing the music programs for the State of Mississippi, consulting for UK based Sound Diplomacy and teaching courses at Berklee School of Music online. Mr. Young was an Artist in Residence in Entertainment Industry studies at The University of Southern Mississippi specializing in Publishing, Digital Marketing, and Music for the Visual Image. Mr. Young has a master's degree in Economic Development with an emphasis on the Creative Economy.
