PROGRAM INFORMATION

This FYE Abroad trip will examine the vibrant culture and interesting history of Cuba through the writing of Ernest Hemingway. We will visit the Museo Hemingway at Finca Vigia, Hemingway’s Cuban home, and the fishing village of Cojimar, where Hemingway set his Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Old Man and the Sea. In Havana, we will visit Hemingway sites, like the Ambos Mundos Hotel, Hemingway’s favorite Havana hideaway where he frequently did his writing (and his romancing!), and other Hemingway hangouts like La Floridita bar and La Bodeguito del Medio.
